About The Shark Channel

How I got interested in sharks

Ever since I was 2, when my father told me what a shark was, I was fascinated by them. Everything, from their tail fin to the front of their head was of interest to me. The way they hunt, the way they communicate, all of these things made me fall in love with them. And after we’re done learning together, I can assure you, you will too.

Then I got to see them

And that was just learning about them. All of this was before I actually got to see them. On my twelfth birthday, I went to an aquarium and actually had the privilege of swimming with the bonnethead sharks there! Even though bonnetheads are one of the smaller sharks at the aquarium, it was still one of the coolest experiences of my life and it only made my awe and love of sharks even greater. Seeing sharks behind glass is one thing, but actually getting to swim with them is an entirely different matter.

We are Here to Educate You About Sharks (and maybe love them too?)

Sharks may seem scary at first, but when you start to learn about them, I’m pretty sure you’ll think differently. My goal here is to teach people how valuable (not scary) sharks are in the ecosystem and how much we need them. And I can assure you, at the end of all this, I hope you'll say: "Sharks are so cool, and they help the world so much, I can't believe I was ever scared of them" or "I can't believe I thought bad things about them". And who knows, maybe you'll even start liking them! That is my ultimate goal.

Why is my website different

My website is different because I, over the next few years, will learn and teach you guys about a lot of attributes of sharks that we know of, and all of my opinions on how they help a shark dominate. I'm also going to be talking about a lot of the "popular" species of sharks. I’m also a kid, so my perspective will be a little different then other opinions you may have heard previously.
